Earthlings Adventure Club’s goal is to provide access, transportation, skilled mentorship and outdoor fun to elementary school students after school in Santa Cruz.
We are a highly specialized program as we facilitate social emotional learning opportunities, nature based learning, physical activity, and group games. Our small group sizes of 5-11 people create a safe place for kids to socialize, enjoy the world around them, be creative and silly, and be themselves. To learn more about the benefits for children having lots of regular time in nature- check out our about page.
We provide field trips daily from various schools in Santa Cruz to nature locations including:
Wilder Ranch State Park
Henry Cowell Redwoods
Nisene Marks State Park
Natural Bridges
Seacliff State Park
and more!
Our days look like: filling up water bottles/restroom at school, heading out to our daily location, communal healthy snack (fruit, vegetable, and protein option), and some combination of: group active game, hiking, plant/animal identification, improv, breathwork, yarn weaving, free play, more snack, watercolor painting.
Our leaders are skilled in childcare, nature based teaching, and social work. Our goal is to provide a safe space for kids to follow their inner voice creatively, physically, and emotionally. We are there as guides and mentors for our cohorts in listening to their bodies and minds, and provide games and structured play when necessary. Nature is the greatest teacher in that much of what we get to observe and enjoy are happenstance occurrences. Check out our blog at earthlingsadventureclub.blogspot.com for more about the awesome things we see every day.
We fill in the gaps with entertainment and fun to cultivate a safe and lighthearted experience for the people we serve, the Santa Cruz community's young people.
